Accessibility Documentation:
"With respect to accessibility, Tutor.com is committed to helping all learners, regardless of their differing abilities, and has taken several steps to ensure that users who are visually impaired or otherwise disabled have access to the complete functionality of our service. We are fully compliant with the relevant requirements of ADA Section 508 (specifically, criteria 1194.21, 1194.22, 1194.31, and 1194.41), and our programs are aligned to WCAG2.0 standards at level AA. Summary of our accessibility features:
§ Tutor.com is optimized for popular screen readers (e.g., JAWS, Kurzweil, NVDA, etc.), providing a legible and navigable experience for non-sighted students by providing text equivalents for non-text content and including relevant page elements in the tab order so their proper reading sequence may be programmatically determined.
§ Tutor.com is also designed with motor disabilities in mind. Because our service is fully web-based, with no required plugins or downloads, it does not interfere with third-party assistive technology or native OS accessibility functions like Mouse Keys, Sticky Keys, Filter Keys, or Toggle Keys.
§ Users with disabilities may connect with a tutor in our standard Online Classroom (whose chat, file-sharing and other tools are fully keyboard-operable, tab-navigable, and screen reader-legible), or they may choose to connect with a tutor in our special Accessibility Classroom instead. The Accessibility Classroom is designed primarily for non-sighted users, providing a simplified toolset and a streamlined process for initiating a voice chat with a tutor by calling into a conference line with a randomly generated PIN for authentication."
