Canvas - Integration - Carolina Virtual Labs

The Carolina Virtual Labs integration for Canvas is approved for use within the Universities of Wisconsin Digital Learning Environment (DLE). Faculty have the option to request virtual labs with some of Carolina Distance Learning's lab kits.

Summary:

Carolina Virtual Labs are online slideshow-style presentations, sometimes with comprehension check questions, that can be embedded within Canvas.  They are meant to accompany physical lab kits that instructors in subjects such as Chemistry may ask students to purchase.

Costs:

Instructor or student pays $169 for a physical kit plus $5 per virtual lab.

New Users:

Interested faculty who teach courses that may use Carolina Virtual Labs can contact distancelearning@carolina.com to see what options are available. Alternatively, faculty can contact their institution's Canvas administrator to inquire about setting up a virtual lab.

Directions:

The LTI allows instructors to create links to individual labs within the Canvas course module structure.

Support:

When instructors receive a kit, they are contacted by a vendor rep from Carolina Distance Learning who can explain how the instructor and students can get support.
