Kaltura (Admin) - Institutional Administrator permission change 01/05/21

On 01/05/21, the Digital Learning Environment Team changed the "UW Institutional Administrator" role in the University of Wisconsin System Administration's Kaltura Management Console (KMC) to remove editing permissions for a handful of custom metadata fields.
The custom metadata fields in question include the "Exclude Media" field and other fields which will be used in an upcoming media retention process. Campus Kaltura administrators will have the ability to edit those fields through the UW's custom Kaltura Admin Tools, but not through the KMC.
The change only impacts campus Kaltura administrators with the "UW Institutional Administrator" role in the KMC, and should have no impact on how content owners or viewers interact with Kaltura media. The change should not impact the ability of UW Institutional Administrators to edit other metadata fields such as entry title or description through the KMC.
