Canvas (PeopleSoft) - Courses not appearing in Canvas if not "in Scope" in PeopleSoft

Campus Canvas administrators sometimes report that a course doesn't show up in Canvas, despite the course, department, and enrollments all looking correct in the Student Information System (PeopleSoft). One possible source of this issue is incorrect "Scoping" in PeopleSoft.
In PeopleSoft, there is a set of tables which determines which courses are "in scope" to be included in the nightly data transfer from PeopleSoft, through middlware named Kimono, to Canvas.

A PeopleSoft administrator can verify that a course has been set as "in scope" in one of the following ways:
  • SAIP Class Integration reportPeopleSoft > Curriculum Management > Schedule of Classes > SA Integration Pack > SAIP Class Integration Report
  • Check the values for the class on the SAIP scoping and association screens: PeopleSoftCurriculum Management > Schedule of Classes > SA Integration Pack > Scoping and Association
If the course is "in scope" but still does not appear in Canvas, then the data either has not updated yet in Canvas or there was a processing issue in Kimono or Canvas. A Canvas administrator can submit a ticket to Instructure Support (Canvas > Help) to investigate the issue. During add/drop periods, please note that it may take up to 24 hours to see an enrollment change in Canvas.

If the course is not "in scope," a PeopleSoft administrator can change the scoping values for the course. See Oracle's SAIP Scoping and Association Values guide.
