The University of Wisconsin System instance of Canvas held a meeting on November 18, 2022, to review upcoming features in Canvas. New Features available in Canvas after 12/17/2022
New Features available in Canvas after 12/17/2022
System Level
- Grades - Student Feedback Visibility Update: In the Grades page, placement for grade distribution, rubrics, and comments have been updated for consistency.
- Permissions - Manage Course Content Granularity: In the Permissions page, Manage Course Content- add / edit / delete group permission has been added to Course and Account Roles.
- Feature Option - New Quizzes - Rich Content Editor: The Rich Content Editor, except for third party tools, has been added to New Quizzes.
- Feature Option - New Quizzes - Blueprint Courses Support New Quiz Locking: Blueprint Course Quiz Locking disables editing of New Quizzes in associated courses.
- Feature Option - New Quizzes - Allow Clearing of Multiple Choice Question Answers: In the New Quizzes settings, instructors can enable Allow Clearing Selection (Multiple Choice) allowing students to clear multiple choice answers.
- Feature Option - New Quizzes - Fill in the Blank with Multiple Word Bank Improvements: In New Quizzes, when building a Fill in the Blank question with multiple word bank choices, distractor words display in a separate section for instructors. Also, word choices can be used more than once when Allow Word Bank Choices to be reused is selected and duplicate answer choices are graded correctly.
- Pages – Schedule Page Publication: Instructors can delay pages for publication on a specific date and time. This update allows instructors to prepare and schedule pages in advance to automatically publish in a course. This is the same update that was delayed from November.
The 12/17/2022 release does not contain any items that allow for changes made at the course or user level.
