In the University of Wisconsin System (except for UW-Madison) instance of Canvas, the Account Level role of Search Only Admin was created. By implementing this role, staff in teaching and learning support at campuses can have access to Canvas to search for courses and users to verify enrollment and course availability without exposing student work or grades.
