Canvas - SIS/Canvas Sync Failure 11/18/2021 [Resolved]

Instructure Support reports that the overnight sync process between the Student Information System (SIS, or PeopleSoft) and Canvas failed for several University of Wisconsin System campuses the night of 11/17-11/18/2021. Syncs have been restarted and the SIS team at Instructure is investigating the cause of the issue.

Impacted campuses include:

    UW-RiverFalls

•    UW-Platteville

    UW-La Crosse

    UW-Milwaukee

    UW-Parkside

    UW-Stevens Point

    UW-Whitewater

The result is that changes or additions made to users, courses, and enrollments in PeopleSoft in the past day or two may not be reflected in Canvas until the newly restarted syncs (mentioned above) are completed.

We will update this news item as more information becomes available.

Edit: UW-Green Bay was included as an impacted campus in error. We've removed UW-Green Bay from the list.

Update 11/19/21: 

SIS imports for all campuses ran successfully the night of 11/18 to 11/19/21. User, course, and enrollment data in Canvas should be current. We encourage campus Canvas Administrators to verify and to report any issues to Instructure Support.
