The University of Wisconsin System instance of Canvas held a meeting on May 17, 2021, to review upcoming features in Canvas. New features in Canvas available after June 19, 2021:
- New Quizzes - Item Bank Management: Item banks can now be shared with the entire account or individual users. When instructors share an item bank, the item bank supports a new View permission, which can be given to a user and provides access to the bank as read only. The user who shares an item bank can continue to specify editing access for other users.
- Permissions - Manage Course Granularity: The Courses - add/edit/delete permission has been grouped into five separate permissions. The five permissions are manage/update, add, conclude, delete, and publish.
- SpeedGrader - Comment Library: Comments can be added and saved for reuse within SpeedGrader, allowing individual users to save frequently used comments to be reused across assignments in multiple courses.
- Deploy Update: There is a File Upload interface change in the Assignments.
- Deploy Update: It is possible to remove Rubric ratings in SpeedGrader.
- Deploy Update: ePortfolio requires being enrolled in a course as a student.
- Deploy Update: Account-level roles can duplicate discussions.
- Deploy Update: Anonymous comments aren't spoiled when the anonymous person uses a rubric for the same assignment.
