Canvas - Extending Course Access

In the last release, Canvas made a change where the student participation checkbox has to be selected to use the course or section level date override to update the start or end date for student access to a course.
If the student participation checkbox is not selected, Canvas does not override the term date for student access. https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-15402-6795264211
Note: If the Student Participation checkbox is not selected, a course override will not be created. Students can participate in the course before and after the start and end date, and participation will always be determined by the term dates. However, the course dates will still be used to determine placement in a student's Courses list (past, current, or future enrollment).
Changes are being made to the extend enrollment tool to select the checkbox and will look at the impact on courses. Until we are able to identify the impact, please have your instructors select the student participation checkbox to extend the access using the course or section dates in their courses.
