New Course and User Analytics tool was enabled on 01/01/2020 on the University of Wisconsin-System instructional instance of Canvas. Instructors using the UW-System instructional instance will be able to use New Analytics via a button on the right-hand menu of course home pages.

New Analytics provides a richer analytics experience for course grades, weekly online activity, and individual student view. All analytics also include mobile page views.

The previous analytics tool was deprecated with an end-of-life date of 03/21/2020. Given our new “continuous release” cycle of DLE software updates, and given that there are no days during the year when the University of Wisconsin System isn’t offering courses, dates to implement changes/updates are selected based on minimizing the impact to the fewest number of active classes and negotiating with the institutions. Therefore, the University of Wisconsin System enabled the new tool now rather than during the spring term for most University of Wisconsin campuses.

Canvas Tier 1 assistance with Analytics or any other Canvas tool is available 24/7 via the Help link in the left navigation of Canvas when logged into the University of Wisconsin-System instance of Canvas.
