On 11/22/2019, the University of Wisconsin System Digital Learning Environment project team changed the Kaltura settings for displaying audio-only media.
Audio player settings were changed in the DLE Canvas-Kaltura integration so that audio files will play in a smaller "audio player" instead of a full-size video player. Users embedding audio-only media in Canvas will be given two choices of size: 350x80 pixels and 600x80 pixels. This is large enough to display closed captions (when available) but without the wasted screen real-estate of larger video players.
Previously-embedded audio media may display some white padding below the audio player. Video owners can eliminate this by re-embedding the video using the new audio embed option.
For more information, see Kaltura -Advanced Video Embed Options.
