Canvas - Incomplete Student Enrollment
In the University of Wisconsin System installation of Canvas, if a student with the status of incomplete in a course has been granted the opportunity to finish the course by the instructor, either a campus Canvas administrator or the course instructor will need to grant the student access to the course materials.
If the course was originally offered in Canvas:
If the course was in Canvas, you can extend the dates for the assignments to allow submissions for the students with the incompletes until they finish the course. The course will be available for 6 months for the instructors to make these changes. If more time is needed, then let UWSA Admins know to extend the end date for the term in Canvas for you to allow the instructor to manage the dates out for more than 6 months.
If the course was originally offered in D2L but the current section of the course is in Canvas:
If the course was in D2L and the student needs to be enrolled in a Canvas course for the current term, the campus Canvas Administrator can create a supplemental section just for the student. The administrator then enrolls the student in a supplemental course and then cross-lists the course in Canvas with the course that they need to participate in to complete the work for the incomplete. Either the instructor or the administrator can assign the student individually to the assignments as needed.
