Security - Protecting your Data from Viruses and Unauthorized Use

This document provides links to guides for increasing your protection against computer viruses and unauthorized use in order to secure your data.

The Office of Campus Information Security (OCIS) offers a number of how-to guides designed to help faculty, staff, and students to secure their computers from viruses and people looking to gain access to sensitive data. It is highly recommended that campus users follow these tips to ensure the greatest amount of protection for their computer and data.

If you ever suspect that your data may have been compromised by a virus or unauthorized use, do not wait to take action. Contact your department administrator or the DoIT Help Desk to report any possible security breaches or to get assistance cleaning your computer.
