The primary program codes L&S departments use are:
  • 0 - Student Services: in L&S, typically only in large organizations focused specifically on student services like Student Academic Affairs.

  • 2 - Instruction 

  • 4 - Research

  • 5 - Outreach/Public Service 

  • 6 - Academic Support: College administration, libraries, sabbaticals, faculty development grants.

  • 9 - Financial Aid: limited exposure in L&S.
