This document explains how to view News items.
Viewing News in KB Admin Tools
Click the News tab in KB Admin Tools.
Enter the ID number of the news item you would like to view in the ID or comma delimited IDs field and click the Go button. You may also use the other Search/ display issues: Search term, Site, Owner, (display) Limit.
The image below shows a red arrow pointing to the Search / display filters on the My News Items screen.
Viewing a News Item allows you to see the content of the News article, including activation and expiration dates, who originally posted the item, and any edits or updates that have been made and who they were made by.KB User's Guide - News Tab - Editing News Items
Viewing News Items in the Live Sites
- Your News items can be displayed front and center on your live KB site by using the delivered News Content Module. Below, you will see that the DoIT Help Desk has renamed their News Content Module to "Support News". To review how to create and modify Content Modules, please look at this section of Customizing Your KB Site's Front Page.
The image below shows the News Content Module on the DoIT Help Desk KB. The red arrow is pointing to the re-named News Module, "Support News".
- When a user searches your live site, News Items relevant to their search are listed on the top of the screen.
