Semester Long iPad Loan Pilot Program
This document details the Semester Long iPad Loan Pilot Program Policies
ALL SPOTS HAVE BEEN FILLED FOR THE SPRING 2023 SEMESTER. ANY FUTURE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ADDED TO THE WAITLIST.
College Library is offering a pilot program of Semester Long iPad Loans. This program is extremely limited, as we only have 18 iPads to offer.
iPads will be offered to the first 18 respondents to the survey below (Survey Opens January 26, 2023 at 9 AM) via email. Respondents to the survey after the first 18 have the option to be added to a waitlist, should the pilot program continue beyond this semester.
The iPads will be available beginning on February 1, 2023 - though accepted participants must respond to the email sent to them to arrange a specific pick-up time - and will be due back by May 12, 2023.
A charger, case, bag, iPad (specs found here), and 1st generation Apple Pencil will be included.
All participants in the pilot program will be required to sign a contract to adhere to the following policies.
Policies
General
- Participants of the Pilot Program will not be allowed to check out additional iPads from any InfoLabs location for the duration of the semester-long loan.
- If an iPad is returned early for any reason (with the exception of easily fixable damage, see below), it will pass to the next person on the waitlist, and the participant will not receive another semester-long loan (though they may fill out the form again to be put on the waitlist).
Damage/Loss
- If an iPad is accidentally damaged or stops working due to typical use, the College Library Computer Lab staff will do their best to repair the item on-site. However, no guarantees can be made - if the item cannot be fixed, we cannot guarantee that a replacement will be available.
- If an iPad is damaged due to neglect or misuse, the participant may be charged a replacement fee, and will not be offered a replacement iPad, even if one is available.
- If an iPad is declared lost, the participant may be charged a replacement fee.
Fines/Fees
- There will be a late fine for iPads in this program of $40 per day, to a maximum of $120.
- If an iPad is overdue for more than 3 days, it will be declared lost.
- If an iPad is declared lost, the participant may be charged a replacement fee.
- Replacement Fees:
- iPad: $200
- Pencil: $90
- If an iPad that has been declared lost is returned, the replacement fee will be forgiven, but any late fees will remain in place.
