Learning Pathway Handout
Handout to map out learning pathways for your course
A learning pathway is a visualization of activities students engage in to achieve a specific course learning outcome and leverages Bloom's Taxonomy (in this example, the cognitive domain). Learning pathways are structured from lower-level to higher-level learning activities. Pathways begin with the assumed level of understanding students have at the beginning of the course. The pathway ends at the level of the identified course learning outcome. A strong learning pathway provides opportunities to assess learning as students progress. It can also be used to communicate to students how activities are related to and support other activities. It can also identify gaps in the progression of learning.
