Student accessibility and usability barriers

The following information is provided to help people with disabilities know what potential barriers may exist within Jira.

Some keyboard navigation barriers may be difficult for people with vision or motor disabilities

When using a keyboard navigator, users are restricted from reaching the headings and sorting the columns. Also, the left side bar is not accessible via keyboard. In certain contexts, users cannot format text. The focus indicator on the page has either very low contrast or does not highlight the item at all.

Magnification and interface barriers may be difficult for people with low vision

When the page is magnified between 200 and 400%, the content on the page is unable to be reached since users cannot scroll vertically. When magnified at 400%, the user must scroll horizontally to see crucial information.

Some screen reader barriers may be difficult for people with vision disabilities

Certain buttons on the page do not contain alt text, making it impossible for the user to know what specific button’s purposes are.
