Remote access to CAE Linux Computers

How to connect to CAE Linux machines from different OS's

CAE Linux computers are available for remote access, both with a Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Terminal only.


Please note, CAE Windows machines are NOT available for remote access. Some of the Windows-only apps are available on XenApp (https://kb.wisc.edu/cae/28565) and others are available for download.  Please see the following for a list of software and how it is available: https://www.cae.wisc.edu/software/

GUI:

Windows:
MobaXterm (recommended): https://kb.wisc.edu/cae/106036
ssvnc (old/depricated): https://kb.wisc.edu/cae/20309




Terminal:


Mac & Linux: Simply run command "ssh <YourCAEUsername>@best-tux.cae.wisc.edu" in a terminal window
