Remote access to CAE Linux Computers

How to connect to CAE Linux machines from different OS's

CAE Linux computers are available for remote access, both with a Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Terminal only. We recommend using the best-tux.cae.wisc.edu load-balancing service for the best experience, as this will find a lab machine that has the least users logged in and most available resources.

Please note, some of the Windows-only apps are available on XenApp (https://kb.wisc.edu/cae/28565) and others are available for download.  Please see the following for a list of software and how it is available: https://www.cae.wisc.edu/software/

Multi-Operating System (Web Browser Based)

Windows:
Windows Subsystem for Linux & VNC client: https://kb.wisc.edu/cae/100399
