VPN - Add a second connections in GlobalProtect - Windows device
This document shows how to add an additional connection in PaloAlto GlobalProtect VPN client software and switch between the two as needed
GlobalProtect VPN - Configure an Additional Connection
After installing GlobalProtect VPN software (see related UW Oshkosh KnowledgeBase articles), you can use these instructions to add an additional connection portal within Windows.
Add an additional connection
For those users who connect to multiple VPN destinations/portals and wish to add a connection in the Windows GlobalProtect VPN software.
- From the windows icon tray in the lower right corner, locate the GlobalProtect icon which looks like a small globe. It may be hidden by default, if so click on the arrow Up
to show hidden icons. Right-click on GlobalProtect, select Settings - In Settings -> General, select Add.
- In Portal Address: type in ondemand.vpn.uwosh.edu, select Save
- From the windows icon tray in the lower right corner, locate the GlobalProtect icon which looks like a small globe. It may be hidden by default, if so click on the arrow Up
to show hidden icons. Click on the GlobalProtect icon - Click the Portal drop-down menu, select your desired VPN connection/portal (eg. UW Oshkosh: ondemand.vpn.uwosh.edu).
- Click the blue Connect button and login with your credentials (for UW Oshkosh connection, use your NetID username and password).
- When prompted, enter your username and password.
- Click the blue Sign In button.
- You are now connected to your desired VPN and can access protected resources. Once completed with your work, click the GlobalProtect icon GlobalProtect icon and click Disconnect.
