NetID - First Time Activation
This article explains how to activate your NetID for the first time.
Your NetID is your UW Oshkosh identity and it provides access to the following campus resources:
- Campus computer login
- Housing Portal
- Library Resources
- Titan Apps
- Office 365
- Titan Web
- My UWO Portal
- Titan WiFi
- + More
Before you can use your NetID, the account must be activated. This can be accomplished by logging in to a UW Oshkosh computer or navigating to http://uwosh.edu/netid where you will see the following screen:
Be sure to select the First-time Activation button and input the desired information following the password requirements on the right. Not sure of your NetID? Check out this article: NetID - What is my User Name?
UW Oshkosh has a 180 password policy, meaning that every 180 days you will be required to change your password.
If you type in everything and see the following error: "Error (1) starting password change. Account may disabled or does not exist."
Please verify that both your NetID and 7 digit campus ID number were input correctly.
Once completed, you can login to campus resources. Information Technology strongly encourages you to sign up for Self-Service Password Reset through your Office 365 account. More information can be found here: Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) Registration.
