Warner Park plays host to a variety of social happenings such as charity walk/run events and community festivals. The colorful shelter is popular for reunions and parties, while other notable attractions include the off-leash dog park, beach, and frequented boat launch. Warner park is home to such summer favorites as Madison Mallard ballgames, and the Fourth of July musical and firework extravaganza, Rhythm and Booms.
The Warner Park Community Recreation Center (WPCRC) provides innovative growth and enrichment opportunities for the Madison community. Madison School-Community Recreation (MSCR) provides various recreational and craft classes in WPCRC. There is a fitness/exercise room, open times in the gymnasium for basketball and volleyball games and a game room. Meeting rooms and a large community room with a commercial kitchen are available for banquets, company gatherings, weddings, etc. An ID card needed for entry (residents - $5 per individual or $10 for a family of 4; Non-Residents - $15 indv., $25 for family).
Directions from campus: east on E Johnson St, left on Fordem Ave (at stop light just past Yahara River and Tenney Park); Fordem becomes Sherman Ave., which becomes N Sherman Ave. The park is on west (left) side of Sherman Ave at Northport Drive.
