Ignore a call by performing one of the following actions:
Use do not disturb (DND) to silence your phone and ignore incoming call notifications when you need to avoid distractions. Please do not use DND if you use Finesse contact center software. Use the contact center software to make yourself not available.
When you turn on DND, your incoming calls are forwarded to another number, such as your voicemail, if it is set up.
When DND is turned on, the header section of the phone screen changes color (8851 only) and Do not disturb is displayed on the phone screen.
When you turn on DND, it affects all lines on your phone. However, you will always receive intercom and emergency calls, even when DND is turned on.
If multilevel precedence and preemption (MLPP) is set up for your phone, priority calls will ring your phone with a special ringtone, even when DND is turned on. This requires special set up. If this is desired, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 1 Press Do not disturb softkey on the 8851. Press the two dot softkey and then DND on the 7841.
Step 2 Press Do not disturb again to turn off DND on the 8851. Press the two dot softkey and then DND on the 7841.
While you are on a call, you can mute the audio, so that you can hear the other person, but they cannot hear you.
Step 1 Press Mute.
Step 2 Press Mute again to turn mute off.
