Web Hosting - Java/Tomcat - Restarting Tomcat Server

All Java accounts have a corresponding Manifest group, which is made up of the contacts of the account, which allows those NetID's access to the Tomcat server restart areas below.

The URL one can access in order to Stop/Restart a particular Tomcat server in Shared Web Hosting is in the form of:

https://[fully-qualified-domain-name]/servercontrol/

Example: https://website-name.wisc.edu/servercontrol

NOTE: If you are performing multiple deploys and un-deploys with Tomcat Manager, it is a good idea to use this tool to restart the Tomcat server as well.   This can help avoid memory leaks that can be cleared by the restart to Tomcat.
