This document explains how to request secondary email addresses to be added to your S/MIME digital certificate.
If you have additional email addresses you would like to add onto your digital certificate, please contact UW Digital ID Administration at firstname.lastname@example.org with the secondary addresses you would like to add.
Any new addresses you request will go through some form of email verification, to prove that you own that email address.
A new certificate will be issued to you with the additional addresses. Follow the instructions on this KB to download your certificate: UW Digital ID (Personal Certificate) - Downloading My Digital Certificate through Comodo
Once you've retrieved your certificate, you will need to reinstall the certificate and configure your email client(s) to use the new certificate. Please refer to the below documents for instructions on installation and configuration.
Your old certificate will be revoked when you request additional addresses and a new certificate is issued to you. If you encrypted documents and / or emails with your old certificate, do not remove the old certificate from your computer; you will lose the capability to decrypt those documents / emails if you remove the old certificate.
UW Digital ID cannot restore your old certificate once new email addresses have been added.
Once additional emails have been added to your certificate, you will no longer be able to use the certificate issuance website to manage your certificate. This also precludes auto-renewal notifications and certificate renewal. You will need to contact UW Digital ID Administration at email@example.com to manage your new certificate moving forward.
