To obtain support from the Dean's Office for pre-approved candidate interview expenses that your department has incurred. Approval must be granted by the Associate Dean for your department. Monetary support is given via budget transfer which will add additional funding to your budget. Link to the form is included in the policy below.
College funding can be requested to cover the interview cost of two (2) faculty candidates per authorized vacancy. All reimbursements for candidate interview expenses require approval by an Associate Dean. The request should be made via a memo or email to the Associate Dean for your department. The written request to the Associate Dean for a faculty interview serves 2 purposes:
1) requesting permission to bring the candidate to campus; and
2) indicating who will be paying for the interview, the College (by budget transfer) or the department.
The college only reimburses (by budget transfer) the first interview expenses of two (2) candidates per vacancy. If you invite someone back for a second interview you would not need another approval from the Associate Dean. The department is responsible for expenses incurred for any second interviews.
E-reimbursement is used to reimburse candidates for expenses. For faculty positions, please include a copy of the Associate Dean's approval in the receipt packet for the E-reimbursement.
Most important- The Request for Budget Transfer of Approved Faculty Interview Expenses should be submitted to request a budget transfer to cover the L&S share of the interview expenses. Reimbursement for all costs associated with the interviewee, are limited to state rates.
