Overview

You will receive an automatic notification from WordPress if the email on file has been changed. There are a few reasons this could happen:

  1. You updated your email address directly in WiscWeb
  2. The email address that was assigned to your account when your role was created was not your preferred email address (as designated in the campus directory)
  3. You changed your name and therefore your email address changed

Please note that this notification is nothing to be alarmed about and does not pose any risk to your access in WiscWeb.

Example Message

The message Subject line will read something like "[WiscWeb WordPress Service] Email Changed".

The body of the message will look something like this:

Actions

Whether you want to change the email address associated with your account or you just want to stop receiving these emails, please forward the notification to help@doit.wisc.edu with a note about your preference for what you'd like to happen (ex: "I'd like to stop receiving these emails" or "I'd like my email on file changed to ____"). At this time, users do not have the option to update the email address on their own.
