A fellowship of individuals who, through their shared experience, strength and hope, are recovering from compulsive overeating. OA welcomes anyone who wants to stop eating compulsively. There are no dues or fees for members and OA is self supporting through members voluntary contributions. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organizations, any political movements, ideologies or religious doctrines. OA takes no position on outside issues. The primary purpose of OA is to help members abstain from eating compulsively and to carry its message to those who still suffer.
OA is not only about weight, obesity, or diets, it also addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
