The Outlook for Mac experience, now available for preview, has been updated to enhance performance and elevate productivity. The new Outlook for Mac is powered by the Microsoft Cloud and connects using Microsoft sync technology. It brings updates across Mail, Search, and Calendar experiences that are designed for simplicity, reliability, and customization. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of the most demanding executives and power users with improved performance and new functionality and look forward to learning from our customers who choose to try the new Outlook for Mac preview. The updated experience is carefully crafted and specifically designed with the power of Microsoft Services to provide suggestions and insights that are relevant to you, and simplicity to enable you to customize the experience.
|Update||With usage growing daily in our preview experience, Microsoft is rolling out Outlook for Mac to Preview Channel as the default experience for any user who has never tried the new experience. The default-on Outlook toggle provides access to enhanced performance and user experience across Mail, Calendar, People, and Search. This will be rolled out in early June and expect to complete rollout late August, 2021.|
Before you can use this version of Outlook, your MacOS and client version will need to meet the following requirements:
Users will be switched into the new Outlook for Mac experience upon starting the client. Users can turn the toggle off to switch back to the legacy experience as desired by clicking on the "New Outlook" slider located next to the search function. The feature update uses Microsoft sync technology and the updated experience offers an easily customizable experience that uses Microsoft Services to provide relevant suggestions and insights.
Yes. There are several features that are available in the current version of Outlook for Mac for Office 365 that aren't yet available in the new Outlook experience. Learn more.
