This document will show how to connect to WiscVPN using the Palo Alto GlobalProtect App available on Android devices.
Note: This application has known functionality issues in which the user may be unable to connect after the initial setup. See work-arounds below.
Upon opening the app, you will be prompted to enter a portal. Enter the following portal address: uwmadison.vpn.wisc.edu. Then tap "CONNECT."
After connecting, you will be prompted for a username and password. Enter your NetID for the username (do not include @wisc.edu) and your NetID password for the password. Tap "SIGN IN."
You will be prompted with Duo as shown below. Enter the password from your key fob/Duo Mobile app or enter "1" to receive a push on your mobile device.
The app may prompt you to allow connection. If it does, click "OK."
After allowing the app to connect, the screen will remain blue to indicate active status. A white icon with a green shield should appear on the screen above "CONNECTED." To disconnect, tap this shield icon.
