MyUW System Portal - Login, Access, and Troubleshooting
This document explains who can access the MyUW System portal, how to log in, and how to troubleshoot errors when accessing the portal.
Log Into MyUW System
MyUW System can be accessed at my.wisconsin.edu using Wisconsin Federation login.
First, select your University of Wisconsin System organization.
Next, you will be taken to the login page for your campus. Log in using your campus credentials (e.g. NetID, UW-Extension ID, ePanther ID, etc.).

Once logged in, your MyUW Homepage will display a variety of widgets based on your role at the university. The list of default widgets can be viewed at MyUW System Portal - Default Tiles on Homepage. MyUW System Eligibility
All University of Wisconsin System faculty, staff and student employees with active appointments should be able to access MyUW System. You must have a valid and active username (e.g., NetID, UW-Extension ID, ePanther ID, etc.) with your local campus. Your campus Employee ID (HR ID) must be accurate and available in the UW System Directory.
These accounts are issued by your local campus and are typically used to access online campus resources. If you believe you should be eligible for MyUW System but are unable to log in, please contact your campus IT Help Desk.
UW System faculty, staff and student employees that have terminated employment will lose access to MyUW System on their last day of employment, including losing access to HRS and other statement services. If you are having problems logging into MyUW System with your campus account, please contact your campus IT Help Desk. You may need to verify your identity and recover your account before being able to log in.
If you are able to successfully log in using your campus account but receive an error message, it's possible that the MyUW portal is experiencing an outage.
Outages will be posted at outages.doit.wisc.edu.
If no outages are posted but you are still unable to fully access the MyUW portal, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
- Verify that you are using a recommended browser: MyUW - Recommended Web Browsers .
- Clear your browser's Cache and Cookies, then re-attempt to access the portal.
- Ensure that cookies are enabled: Web Browsers - Cookies FAQ .
- Check that Java is installed and updated: Windows - Installing Java .
If you are still unable to log in, please contact the DoIT Help Desk for further assistance. They may need to obtain details about your account and browser in order to begin addressing your issue.
