Learn@UW/D2L - Students Cannot View Results Immediately After Submitting their Quiz
This document describes how to resolve the following problems where students cannot view results immediately after submitting a quiz.
In order for students to view any results after taking and submitting a quiz, the "Allow attempt to be set as graded immediately upon completion" check box on the "Assessment" tabbed page in "Edit Quiz" must be checked.
This option must be checked before a student takes a quiz so that the student can view the results.
Just checking the option after a student has taken the quiz will not enable that student to later return to the quiz tool and view the results. To enable the student to view the results for the previously submitted attempt, refer to the instructions in Learn@UW - Student Cannot View Results for Quiz Previously Taken.
The student can now view the quiz results by doing the following:
Select the quiz from the quizzing tool.
Select the Submissions tab.
Select the Attempt tab.
If students can view their attempt scores but not any questions after submitting a quiz, various options by "Show Questions" have not been selected for the submission view.
To fix, edit the quiz and under the "Submission Views" tab, select the view, and then select the following options for the submission view by "Show Questions":
Show all questions with user responses unless you want to only show questions with correct, incorrect, or no responses.
Show question answers unless you do not want these displayed.
Show question score and out of score unless you do not want the points earned for each question displayed.
The student can now view the quiz questions for the attempt.
If students can view quiz questions but not their attempt score after submitting a quiz, the option "Show attempt score and overall attempt score" has not been turned on for the submission view.
To fix, edit the quiz and under the "Submission Views" tab, select the view, and then check the following box by "Score" for the submission view by "Show Questions":
Show attempt score and overall attempt score
The student can now view the score for the attempt.
