Office 365 (Apple Mail) - Format a Message

This document explains how to format a message using Apple Mail. These instructions are for Mac OS 10.9, but are likely to be similar for Mac OS 10.5-8.

There are many ways to format a message:

  • In the top right of the new message window, you can access several options.
    • Attach a document to this message: Allows you to browse for any document you'd like to attach.

    • Format Bar: Brings up options to format the text, including its font, its size, its color, its alignment, and indentation. It can also insert or modify lists.

    • Photo Browser: Allows you to browse for a photo you'd like to attach.

    • Stationery Pane: Allows you to choose the stationery for your message.

  • In the drop-down menu by the Subjects field, there are options regarding what appears in the message window. Those with a check mark are shown and those without a check mark are hidden.

    • Cc Address Field: The Carbon copy address field. The message is sent to each address in it.
    • Bcc Address Field: The Blind carbon copy address field where the names of the recipients aren't visible to other recipients.
    • Reply-To Address Field: Responses to messages you send with an alternate reply-to address are delivered to that address.
    • Priority Field: Set the priority of your message from low to high.
