Windows 8 and 10 - Changing the Input Language

This document describes how to change the keyboard input language in Windows 8.

Adding an Input Language

  1. Open the Control Panel:

  2. Under Clock, Language, and Region, click Add a language.

  3. Click the Add a language button.

  4. Select the language you would click, then click Add.

  5. You should see the language you added appear in the list below.

Switching Between Languages

Windows 10:

In the lower right corner of the screen, press the icon that has the character sequence representing the current language. This will allow you to switch languages.

Windows 8:

  1. Press Windows + I or move your mouse to the bottom left corner of the screen and click on the gear icon.

  2. You can switch the input language two ways:

    • Press Alt + Shift.

    • Click on the language icon and then click on the language you would like to switch to to switch input languages.
