Windows 7 - Using the Search Function

The Search feature of Windows 7 allows you to search your hard drive for files. Note: It will not search through HTML files.

  1. Open the Start Menu Vista Start Logo

  2. Enter the the file name you are searching for in the Search field.

    • You do not need to click on this field to access it, just start typing after opening the Start Menu.


  3. Click See more results.

  4. The Search Results window will appear.

  5. If you are still unable to find your file, click on Custom...


  6. Select Computer to search through all locations on your computer and click OK.
