Event title

Teaching with equity and inclusion

Students’ sense of belonging and their ability to have positive relationships in the classroom are key to their academic success. This session introduces a framework for approaching ways in which teaching practices can address barriers to learning that affect our students.

Session outcomes

  • Explore a framework for inclusive teaching
  • Understand your own social identities as an instructor.
  • Know who your students are and learn about their lived experiences and backgrounds.
  • Intentionally consider whose voices and scholarship we privilege in our disciplines
  • Be purposeful to include all your learners in the activities, conversations, and assessments in your course.
