My Courses Map - Accessibility and Usability Information KB

This document summarizes the accessibility and usability barriers identified during testing as well as how to get help.

MyUW Courses Map Portlet/Classes I Teach Map Portlet will display a student's or instructor's class schedule for a term if the class has a location entered into the student information system. The map uses google map functionality and the user is able to view the mapped classes in a list, add bike trails, zoom in and out and view street level imagery.

Student accessibility and usability barriers

The following information is provided to help people with disabilities know what potential barriers may exist.

Screen reader barriers may be difficult for people with visual disabilities

Some buttons have no label and are not screen readable. Skipped or missing heading levels make it difficult to navigate via screen reader.

Keyboard navigation barriers may be difficult for people with motor disabilities

Some course listings are difficult to navigate using a keyboard or screen reader. Tool loses functionality when window size is decreased.
